Private Services

Non-clinical (Private) Services

There are certain services provided by the GPs which are not covered by the NHS. In such cases, your doctor may charge a fee. Information on why doctors may charge you for these types of work can be found on the BMA website here (this information is also posted in the main reception area of the Practice). Some of the most common non-NHS work includes:

  • Fitness to travel certificate

  • Holiday cancellation certificate

  • Insurance certificate

  • Passport photograph attestation

  • Adoption certificate

  • Passport form countersignature

  • Fitness to drive certificate

  • HGV and/or PSV licence

  • Private medical reports

  • Private medical examination

  • Private consultations and/or prescriptions

  • Reference letter

  • Consultations for registering a road traffic accident

All of these services are provided at the discretion of the GP with whom you consult. They are not obliged to perform these services.
